Job description

Copello are working with a defence client who are looking for a Configuration Engineer to create, implement and maintain change of configured items for legacy and development products. You will support the engineering function’s transition to SolidWorks Manage PLM system, ensuring a considered and controlled roll out of the tool. You will also manage the creation of data repositories and change workflows for projects. This includes managing and auditing the configuration baselines, creating and managing dashboards for progress of Change Requests, Problem Reports and Non-Conformance Reports within SolidWorks Manage. You will entail close collaboration with Engineering disciplines on drawings, bill of materials, firmware and other configured items. Along with supporting the Chief Engineer with customer deliverable documentation and ensure a consistent and unified approach alongside Document Control assistants. Key ResponsibilitiesApply aerospace configuration standards to company configured itemsManage the problem report and change notification process via dedicated PLM toolset (SolidWorks Manage)Continuous improvement of the change management processRun the Change Control Board with Aerospace configuration best practiceGenerate and manage customer approvals and notifications of changeEnsure quality of our design documentation, providing guidance to design engineers and preparing/representing the team for quality auditsGovernance and control of the company wide PDM/PLM systems, including its maintenance and developmentSupport document and drawing reviews and approvalsManage configuration requirements relating to customer contractsGenerate customer-specific configuration management plans

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience Required:Minimum of five years working in an aerospace/defence environment within an Engineering function, ideally in a configuration specialist roleBachelor’s Degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline, or an equivalent level of industry experienceExperience with PDM/PLM & CM Tools (e.g. Windchill, AllChange, Solidworks Manage, etc)Ideal:Configuration Management certification, or similar qualificationKnowledge of Def Stan 05-057 Experience of SolidWorks ManageCAD tools and drawing standards knowledge is preferred If you feel you have the right skills and experience please apply now, or send your CV to
