Job description

This Commissioning Manager role is based on a large scale data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany, reporting directly to the Regional Commissioning Manager.

You will take ownership of commissioning delivery across complex mechanical and electrical systems, managing commissioning engineers, coordinating vendors, and driving programme milestones through to final handover.

The successful Commissioning Manager will act as the key interface between internal project teams, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and client stakeholders throughout all commissioning phases.

This role will suit someone with strong mission critical or data centre commissioning experience who can operate confidently in a fast moving multi-contractor environment while maintaining programme, quality, and safety standards., * Lead and manage Commissioning Engineers across the project

  • Define commissioning scopes and manage delivery in line with programme requirements
  • Track commissioning milestones, identify risks, and implement corrective actions where required
  • Coordinate commissioning schedules with project teams, vendors, and client representatives
  • Act as the main point of contact for commissioning activities across the project
  • Attend and lead commissioning meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
  • Oversee FATs, FWTs, integrated systems testing, and commissioning sequencing
  • Ensure commissioning activities comply fully with project specifications and quality standards
  • Coordinate closely with QA/QC teams to ensure successful testing and handover
  • Manage commissioning documentation including test scripts, compliance records, and sign-off procedures

Requirements

Do you have experience in Mechanical knowledge?, * Proven experience required in a Commissioning Manager or senior commissioning leadership role on data centre or mission critical projects

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or strong commissioning background with 5+ years in a commissioning leadership role
  • Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems within complex construction environments
  • Experience managing commissioning programmes, FATs, FWTs, testing procedures, and final handover processes
  • Strong client facing and stakeholder management experience within live project environments

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working on hyperscale data centre projects across Europe preferred
  • Mechanical or Electrical bias beneficial with cross discipline commissioning knowledge
  • Experience working with major M&E contractors or turnkey delivery contractors advantageous
  • Strong reporting and commissioning documentation management experience preferred, * Strong background in mission critical construction, data centres, or large scale M&E projects
  • Excellent technical understanding of mechanical and electrical commissioning activities
  • Confident managing multiple stakeholders within fast paced construction environments
  • Strong programme awareness with the ability to drive commissioning milestones
  • Detail focused with strong reporting and documentation skills
  • Proven ability to lead commissioning teams and coordinate subcontractors and vendors
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements associated with M&E commissioning works
