Job description

This is a pipeline position. Shadow is actively building a bench for a cyber-focused contract with anticipated award in late fall 2026.

What You’ll Do

This role puts software developers at the heart of the cyber mission . You will design, develop, and sustain mission software that shapes how cyber operations succeed. The work is complex, the environment is demanding, and the stakes are real. You will contribute to systems that cyber operators depend on.

Shadow deploys developers where impact is needed - to build new capabilities, harden existing platforms, or solve integration problems that have resisted easy answers. The expectation is to deliver solutions that work, that last, and that serve the mission and users who rely on them.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Design ing , develop ing , and maintain ing mission-critical software capabilities for cyber operations environments

  • Build ing and integrat ing tools across full-stack environments - from low-level system code to operational interfaces

  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices aligned with the mission space and related program architectures

  • Moderniz ing legacy systems and deliver ing high-performance, security-first solutions for real-time mission use

  • Collaborat ing with operators, mission engineers, user experience (UX ) and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into deployable capabilities

  • Contribut ing to test, integration, and operational acceptance processes that validate mission readiness

Requirements

  • Have 10+ years of professional software development, with senior-level responsibility for design and delivery in mission-focused environments

  • Bring d eep expertise in secure software development, with experience navigating classified development environments and operational constraints

  • Have p roven ability to architect and deliver software solutions within complex, integrated systems - including legacy modernization and platform evolution

  • Know how to lead technical direction, mentor junior developers, and communicate solutions clearly to stakeholders across technical and operational audiences
