Job description
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command., * Develops and implements systems diagnostic and maintenance tools to ensure the availability and functionality of systems required to support organizational objectives.
- Ensures the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of system administration services.
- Oversees the management of accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment. Develops and presents training on the operation and maintenance of systems to the IT staff.
- Applies deep expertise of systems integration, performance tuning, evaluation methods, and project management principles sufficient to maintain, plan and coordinate the installation of new products or equipment in a Windows or PC environment.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) as a condition of employment.
- This is a Mission Essential position. The nature of the positionâs duties and the organizationâs operational mission requires the incumbent to physically report to their duty station in certain situations where non-essential employees are excused.
- Incumbent may be placed in a 24/7 standby or recall status and be required to carry a mobile phone or other similar device to be directly recalled to duty from a recall roster.

Oral Communication -briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience
Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions, In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: serving as a technical analyst and primary customer liaison responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex application issues, managing support policies, and analyzing trend data to optimize business-critical customer support operations; developing and managing customer performance requirements, support policies and procedures.
