Job description

Force of Nature is a fast-growing meat CPG company entering our next phase of scale. Our mission is to accelerate the creation of a global regenerative supply network; we are revolutionizing the meat industry to not just improve but to create positive returns for land, for animal welfare, for communities and for consumers.

We’re looking for a highly technical, solutions-oriented E-commerce Developer to own the performance, optimization, and evolution of our online experience. This role sits at the intersection of technology, customer experience, analytics, and growth - translating business goals into scalable technical solutions that improve conversion, streamline operations, and enhance the customer journey.

You’ll partner closely with the Director of E-commerce to identify opportunities, execute experiments, launch new features, and continuously optimize the site experience from discovery through post-purchase. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing code, analyzing data, solving complex problems, and proactively bringing new ideas to the table.

What You’ll Do:

Translate Business Needs into Technical Solutions

  • Strong communicator with the ability to bridge business context and technical execution - quickly understands priorities and pain points, and translates them into effective, scalable solutions that enhance the customer experience.
  • Naturally curious and forward-thinking - stay on top of emerging e-commerce technologies, trends, and features, and proactively surface new ideas to drive continuous improvement.

Site Experience & Execution

  • Build and optimize core e-commerce experiences from on site through post-purchase (Homepage, PDPs, collections, cart/checkout, subscriptions, landing pages, etc.).
  • Own technical execution of new features, platforms, and programs - from hypothesis to launch, iteration, and ongoing optimization.
  • Translate insights into shipped improvements that reduce friction, improve clarity, and increase conversion.

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

  • Partner closely with the Director of E-commerce to develop, maintain, and execute a prioritized A/B testing roadmap.
  • Work from Figma designs to implement new experiments, analyze results, and turn learnings into scalable improvements.
  • Evaluate opportunities across the full funnel (discovery * purchase * post-purchase), propose solutions, and lead technical execution.

Tech Stack, Performance & Site Operations

  • Own the performance, scalability, and reliability of the site across both frontend experience and backend systems.
  • Drive frontend performance with a focus on speed, stability, and maintainability - optimizing themes, components, and templates to enable rapid iteration and scalable growth
  • Own system integrations end-to-end, ensuring tools and platforms work seamlessly together and feed accurate data into reporting ecosystems
  • Audit and optimize the tech stack, identifying opportunities to simplify, reduce redundancy, and improve overall system efficiency when necessary
  • Strengthen data integrity and analytics implementation, including GA4 configuration, tagging, URL strategy, and attribution - ensuring accurate, trusted reporting across Shopify and supporting tools
  • Lead QA and release processes across devices, browsers, and platforms to ensure reliable, high-quality launches
  • Continuously optimize site structure to support SEO and GEO performance

Compliance Basics

  • Implement changes in alignment with basic accessibility and privacy best practices.
  • Stay aware of evolving standards as they relate to e-commerce implementation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience, ideally within a fast-growing company
  • Direct-to-consumer (DTC) experience, with a deep understanding of conversion drivers and the customer journey
  • Deep experience with Shopify, including theme customization, app integrations, and performance optimization
  • Strong proficiency in Shopify development, including Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, theme architecture, custom functionality, and third-party integrations
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Proven experience with A/B testing and experimentation, including building, deploying, and iterating on tests to drive measurable impact
  • Excellent communication with the ability to bridge the gap between business and technical acumen
  • Curious and self-motivated, with a proactive approach to solving problems and driving progress
  • Experience with Recharge is a plus
