Job description

We re seeking talented Principal level Software engineers with strong communications and software development skills, with an aptitude for the development and maintenance of embedded product software. This includes implementation of software solutions and management practices; test software using debuggers, emulators, and simulators; execution of software releases, upgrades, custom interfaces and software quality assurance activities; supporting customers who are implementing our software on their hardware platforms.

As a member of our team, you will be exposed to the full software lifecycle from requirements, algorithm, software and hardware development through integration and testing. Duties include planning, specification development, coding and testing moderately complex software programs and assisting in other engineering activities such as integration testing, algorithm & data analysis and software troubleshooting.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility a majority of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in a STEM related field and 6 years of professional SW development experience (also considering 4 years of professional SW development experience with Master s degree in a STEM related field).
  • 6 Years experience with object-oriented C
  • Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools
  • DoD Secret or higher-level clearance (active within the past two years)

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Real-time embedded development
  • Software development experience in a Linux environment
  • Background working on defense, aerospace, or mission-critical programs
  • Master s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Ability to develop, lead, and motivate technical teams
  • Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)

Benefits & conditions

Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
