This is an opportunity to join a collaborative engineering environment where quality is viewed as a shared responsibility and where Test Engineers work closely alongside Software Engineers, Product Managers and Architects throughout the entire development lifecycle.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Test Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of complex software platforms used by customers across the UK and Europe.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys automation, modern testing practices and helping engineering teams deliver software with confidence.

You’ll contribute to test strategy, automation framework development, integration testing, API testing and performance testing whilst championing quality throughout the SDLC.

The environment is highly collaborative, Agile and focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks
  • Drive automation-first testing practices
  • Perform API, integration and end-to-end testing
  • Execute exploratory and regression testing where required
  • Embed quality within CI/CD pipelines
  • Investigate, document and manage defects
  • Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers and stakeholders
  • Mentor and support junior members of the testing function
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across engineering and quality practices

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Software Testing or Quality Engineering roles
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress or similar automation tools
  • Strong API testing experience using Postman, SOAP UI or equivalent
  • Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks
  • Experience working within Agile product engineering environments
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles
  • Experience using Git version control
  • Exposure to Docker and containerised environments
  • Cloud experience within AWS or Azure environments
  • Understanding of performance testing tools such as k6 or JMeter
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable

  • C# experience
  • Database testing experience
  • Experience testing complex integrations and distributed systems
  • Experience mentoring or coaching other Test Engineers

Benefits & conditions

  • Join a modern SaaS organisation investing heavily in technology
  • Work on business-critical cloud-native platforms
  • Hybrid working model (2 days per week in Manchester)
  • Strong engineering culture with genuine investment in quality
  • Exposure to modern tooling, automation and cloud technologies
  • Opportunity to influence testing strategy and engineering standards
  • Up to £65,000 plus bonus and comprehensive benefits package

If you’re passionate about automation, software quality and modern product engineering, we’d love to hear from you.
