Job description

As a Consultant, you directly contribute to our mission of empowering nonprofits to expand their impact through strategic use of data and technology. Your ability to ask the right questions, uncover key information, and communicate findings with clarity makes you an essential part of our shared success., * Deliver high-quality consulting services to nonprofit clients, aligning technology and data with strategy.

  • Contribute to project planning, including defining scope, estimates, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with project leads.
  • Lead client engagements using JCA’s lean project methodology, ensuring timely execution, high-quality deliverables, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Manage and plan assigned workload across projects, proactively identifying potential conflicts or gaps to support utilization goals.
  • Engage with stakeholders to elicit and document requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and project goals.
  • Develop actionable recommendations supported by thorough analysis and documentation.
  • Design and implement fundraising or marketing strategies that combine creativity, practicality, and a strong focus on impact.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in at least one JCA consulting specialization:
  • Data Ecosystem Consulting - Support strategy assessment and roadmap, solution selection, and implementation projects designed to align, build, and nurture nonprofit data ecosystems. Define and implement data management and governance frameworks, including data standards, ownership models, quality controls, and stewardship practices.
  • Database Operations Consulting - Provide business process design, data assessment & cleanup, documentation, reporting, system configuration, and training services for Kindsight Ascend, Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack and/or Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud.
  • Strategy and Insights - Support research and data analysis projects and/or staffing engagements to translate data insights into actionable strategies and campaigns for ticketing, marketing, fundraising, and event programming. Provide training and consulting for Vivian, JCA’s flagship analytics tool.
  • Expand consulting expertise through continuous learning and development to enhance JCA’s offerings and contribute to a diverse range of projects.
  • Recruit and maintain relationships with subcontractors to complement our internal expertise as needed.

Thought Leadership

  • Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and contribute to the development of internal resources, consulting processes, thought leadership, and new offerings or products.
  • Create insightful and engaging content that showcases JCA’s industry knowledge and expertise.
  • Represent JCA at conferences, webinars, and events, delivering presentations and participating in panel discussions.

Client Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, key stakeholders, and partners to enhance JCA’s reputation and influence.
  • Identify opportunities for new and expanded projects.
  • Advance sales opportunities by contributing to scoping, pricing, and proposal development with support from senior colleagues, with the opportunity to own sales leads over time.
  • Assist with opportunities by participating in sales presentations and providing other support as needed.

Requirements

You are successful as the Consultant because you:

  • have demonstrated expertise with Salesforce configuration and customization, data migration and governance, reporting and analytics, user and security management, application integrations, and the delivery of scalable fundraising, donor management, and constituent engagement solutions;
  • communicate complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, across all stakeholder levels;
  • apply strong data literacy skills to extract insights and communicate findings to stakeholders, supporting data-informed decision-making;
  • successfully manage projects by adapting approaches to align with client needs and constraints, fostering collaboration and achieving positive outcomes;
  • cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues by actively listening, anticipating needs, and creating value that deepens engagement and drives long-term success;
  • excel in collaborative team environments, contributing positively to team dynamics, valuing diverse perspectives, and working toward shared outcomes with accountability and enthusiasm;
  • demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, effectively prioritizing tasks, managing projects simultaneously, and consistently meeting deadlines; and
  • take initiative, work independently with minimal guidance, and stay motivated to move projects forward without waiting to be directed., You are qualified for the position because you:
  • have demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing Salesforce-based nonprofit solutions, including Nonprofit Cloud (NPC), Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP), or Kindsight Ascend;
  • have demonstrated subject matter expertise, with a minimum of two years’ experience; and
  • have a minimum of three years’ experience in fundraising, marketing, and/or constituent engagement.

You have an advantage in the position if you:

  • hold relevant Salesforce certifications (Salesforce Administrator, Business Analyst, Sales Cloud Consultant, Nonprofit Cloud, or legacy Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) Consultant);
  • have experience in healthcare, higher education, or museums and attractions; and/or
  • have at least one year of experience in a consulting role.

  • work remotely from a home office or other remote space;
  • work 40 hours per week, as this is a full-time position;
  • maintain standard North American business hours with some flexibility;
  • travel up to 10% of business days with easy access to airport; and
  • remain in a stationary position for the majority of an eight-hour workday.
