Dockworker, Warehousing

The Dockworker, Warehousing is responsible for safely and efficiently unloading, sorting, handling, and loading freight in accordance with verbal and written instructions, as well as Federal, State, and customer regulations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, or delivery vehicles or containers by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
• Operate hand and power tools when needed to support outbound blocking and bracing to load out containers.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Control and maintain all records required for accurate, on-time completion of shipments.
• Work in a team environment to accomplish work assignments.
• Periodically use computers, email, scanners, and the warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory, create paperwork, or document reporting.
• Support and promote company core values.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Required to operate forklifts or pallet jacks once authorized.

• A team player with a high level of energy and self-motivation.
• Excellent spelling, grammar, and written/ oral communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
• Must be mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high-stress environment.
• Experience working in Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry preferred.
• Previous general maintenance experience preferred using power tools, nail guns, and saws while adhering to safety procedures.
• Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment, following all required safety procedures.
• Ability to interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Must possess mechanical ability and stamina to work with power tools.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States., Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration., None required. Forklift certification is preferred., The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be capable of individually lifting a minimum of 30 lbs. and team lifting a minimum of 70 lbs. The employee is often required to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects and repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue. The employee is frequently required to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) and at a distance.
