Backend Software Engineer (AI/LLM

• Build and ship complex backend services and infrastructure that interface with LLMs and Generative AI models.
• Take ownership of zero-to-one projects, from prototyping MVPs to hardening them into scalable, secure, and reliable production systems.
• Help scale our existing, widely adopted products as we launch to more organizations.
• Improve backend architecture, observability, and code quality standards.
• Collaborate within a flat engineering structure, working directly with other engineers and the CTO.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our small, lean team of eight engineers. We are seeking a candidate with a strong backend focus, startup experience (Pre-seed to Series B), and a passion for healthcare. This individual will be a core team member, taking on significant ownership to help scale our core services and build new Generative AI and LLM-driven workflows., 5 - 10 years of experience in backend-leaning full-stack software engineering.

Work experience

Experience at an early-stage startup (Pre-seed to Series B).

Strong demonstrated technical expertise (someone who can move fast and understand and explain their code).

Experience or demonstrated interest in healthcare or HealthTech AI.

Education

Demonstrated ‘signal of excellence’ (e.g., top 50 university, high-growth startup, leadership roles, robotics club).

Hard skills

Strong proficiency in Python for backend development.

Experience with production LLMs or Generative AI.

Soft skills

Strong communication skills and ability to take high ownership.
