Senior Backend Java/Spring Engineer (FinTech)

This is a senior technical role where you’ll work closely with engineering leadership to build distributed applications, improve platform performance, and mentor other developers.

Please Note: This is a Hybrid position requiring 3 days per week onsite. Candidates must currently live within commuting distance of Delta, CO, Dallas, TX, or St. Petersburg, FL. Relocation assistance is NOT available.Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable distributed services supporting payment-processing workflows.
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend integrations.
• Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Work within PCI-compliant and regulated environments.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering Leadership., * How many years of professional experience do you have developing backend applications using Java and Spring Boot? Can you describe the types of systems you’ve built?
• Tell me about your experience in the FinTech or Financial Services industry. Have you worked on payment processing, merchant services, payment gateways, ACH, card transactions, or other financial platforms?
• Have you designed and supported distributed, high-volume backend applications in a production environment? What was your role, and what technologies did you use?
• What experience do you have with PCI compliance, secure payment processing, or developing applications in regulated environments?
• This is a hybrid role requiring three days onsite each week in either Delta, CO, Dallas, TX, or St. Petersburg, FL. Do you currently live within commuting distance of one of these locations and are you able to meet this requirement?

• 15+ years of professional Java backend development experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on Spring Boot experience.
• 5+ years working in Financial Services or payment-processing environments.
• Strong expertise in:
• Java
• Spring Framework

• Distributed Systems
• Experience developing secure, enterprise-scale applications.
• Understanding of PCI Compliance and secure payment processing.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP).
• Excellent problem-solving and system design skills.
• Ability to work onsite three days per week in one of the approved locations.
