Job description
The EHR Clinical Applications Specialist serves as the organization’s primary administrator and subject matter expert for athena, our Electronic Health Record (EHR), and the integrated clinical and business applications that support patient care and daily operations.
This role is responsible for optimizing clinical workflows, supporting physicians and staff, troubleshooting software and hardware, implementing new technology, training end users, and ensuring our healthcare technology ecosystem operates efficiently across multiple locations.

What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary administrator and support specialist for athena EHR.
- Configure, optimize, and maintain clinical workflows, templates, documentation, scheduling, and user settings.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot software, hardware, and application issues for physicians and staff.
- Support Apple and Windows devices throughout the organization.
- Configure and deploy new technology, user accounts, and software access.
- Train new and existing employees on EHR functionality and organizational applications.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal leadership to implement software enhancements and workflow improvements.
- Assist with software upgrades, testing, implementations, and technology projects.
- Support application integrations and operational reporting.
- Travel between organizational locations to provide on-site technical support, training, and system optimization.

Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, healthcare applications, or clinical information systems.
- Experience supporting physicians and clinical staff in a healthcare environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Apple products, macOS, iOS, iPads, MacBooks, and Apple ecosystem functionality.
- Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication and training abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to travel between practice locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Athena EHR.
- Experience in cardiology, multi-specialty, or ambulatory healthcare.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Information Systems, Health Information Management, or a related field.
