Virginia Criminal Information Network Operator

· Provide the validation to badge operators and visitor access control personnel who are needed to process building passes process and input rough data read from the Government equipment.

· Provide criminal background checks on personnel who enter DoD buildings and provide positive documentation or restrictive notice needed to access facilities.

· Interpret agency policy, develop internal program procedures, enter data, monitor, track, compile and reconcile data, and analyze criminal information to create consistency for each case.

· Maintain the four databases that are required to advance or deny customer activity when entering the buildings.

· Perform duties with uncompromising work ethic, integrity, and confidentiality.

· Perform NCIC checks daily.

· Communicate verbally and in writing the status of these background checks with authorized personnel and provide instructions regarding INS requirements. 15

· Maintain files for denied, revoked, and approved applicants.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and is detail oriented
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office’s suite applications
• Notable proofreading and typing skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and handle simultaneous assignments with success and accuracy
• The ability to make independent decisions in a quick and decisive manner using good judgment.
• The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and sponsors’ employees
• The ability to represent the organization in a helpful and professional manner in all telephone, radio, and personal contact with Sponsors’ personnel as well as courteous, customer-oriented service with other agencies and organizations.
• Flexibility to work between the hours of 0600-1800, Monday through Friday.

Education & Experience

· GED or High School diploma, College education desired but not necessary

· Must have a Public Trust Clearance or higher. · Previous VCIN experience required · Ability to maintain a VCIN certification.

· Database Entry experience, * High school or equivalent (Preferred)
