Job description

We are seeking a Statistician to support statewide education research, advanced analytics, and AI/ML initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to work with large-scale educational datasets to generate meaningful insights that support research, public policy, and program evaluation., * Perform advanced statistical analyses on large, complex datasets.

  • Develop predictive models and classification models to support research initiatives.
  • Conduct multilevel modeling, regression analysis, growth modeling, structural equation modeling (SEM), psychometric analysis, Item Response Theory (IRT), latent class analysis, and quasi-experimental research.
  • Design and maintain efficient, reproducible analytical workflows.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain and enhance existing SAS programs and SAS macros.
  • Develop analytical solutions using R and/or Python.
  • Support recurring operational reports and ad hoc research projects.
  • Collaborate with faculty, researchers, IT teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to AI/ML initiatives including predictive analytics, NLP, and generative AI applications.
  • Participate in technical documentation, publications, and research reporting.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have strong statistical modeling expertise, programming skills, and experience working with large, complex datasets. This role involves collaboration with researchers, faculty, state agencies, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality analytics, reporting, and data visualization solutions., * Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Informatics, Engineering, Healthcare Analytics, or a related quantitative field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Statistician, Data Scientist, Biostatistician, Research Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SAS.
  • Experience with R or Python.
  • Experience with advanced statistical modeling techniques.
  • Strong data visualization and reporting skills.
  • Experience working with large, structured datasets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills., * Master’s (Required), * Statistician, Data Scientist, Biostatistician: 3 years (Required)
  • SAS professionally: 1 year (Required)
  • advanced statistical modeling: 1 year (Required)

$42 - $44 an hour - Full-time, Contract
