Job description

As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining firmware for our products utilizing the various microcontrollers including Espressif and PIC microcontroller families. You will work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration and performance., Design, develop, and debug firmware for embedded systems, including ESP-IDF and bare-metal microcontrollers

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.

  • Implement communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, HTTP, etc.) for IoT applications.

  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of firmware, including unit tests and integration tests.

  • Optimize firmware performance for power consumption and processing speed.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve firmware issues and provide technical support for hardware integration.

  • Document firmware designs, processes, and procedures for future reference.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in embedded systems and IoT technologies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience with the ESP32 platform and ESP-IDF

  • Experience with modern dev-ops practices including management and distribution of secure encrypted firmware and management of key materials

  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages

  • Familiarity with embedded systems design and development

  • Experience with wireless communication protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth)

  • Understanding of real-time operating systems

  • Experience with board-level communications standards (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.)

  • Experience with physical layer specifications for local wired connections (RS-232, RS-485, etc.)

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Experience with cloud integration and IoT platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
