Job description

Position Summary: The Vegetation Management Technician is responsible for the safe and effective control, maintenance, and removal of vegetation in designated areas to support infrastructure reliability, environmental compliance, and safety objectives. This role involves field-based work, including inspection, treatment, and documentation of vegetation conditions in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements., * Perform vegetation control activities including mowing, trimming and removal of brush.

  • Inspect work areas to identify potential hazards, encroachments, and vegetation-related risks.
  • Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and other tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including treatment methods, locations, and quantities.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Support emergency response efforts related to vegetation impacts (e.g., storm damage clearance).
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and property owners when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental guidelines, and applicable regulations.

And all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Power tools?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Prior experience in vegetation management or related field preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate power tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working around mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Able to work overtime as needed for work or training.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.

Skills

  • Experience with rigging, bucket operation, and the safe use of bucket trucks
  • Knowledge of GIS mapping tools related to vegetation management projects
  • Strong background in tree care, trimming, lawn care, and landscape maintenance
  • Growing experience in horticulture or related fields preferred
  • Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions
  • Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety and precision
  • Familiarity with land management practices specific to solar energy facilities, * There are three different sites you would be working on. Would you be able to commute to Pullman, Grass Lake, and Cement City, MI?

License/Certification:
