Capitole Consulting keeps growing and we want to do it with you! We are looking for a Platform QA Automation Engineer / SDET with 4+ years of experience to own the quality of an ecosystem made up of multiple interconnected services and applications, combining hands-on automation, quality engineering, and a cross-cutting mindset across several engineering teams. We’re looking for a senior QA profile with technical autonomy who can decide how to test complex systems and get other teams to adopt good practices without having formal authority over them. What you’ll do - Define and evolve the platform’s QA and test automation strategy, setting quality standards and Definition of Done criteria. - Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks, covering integration, end-to-end, contract, and performance/load testing. - Validate complex workflows across services and environments, with a focus on microservices and event-driven - architectures. - Test service-to-service
Requirements
communication, API integrations, and containerized/cloud deployments (Docker/Kubernetes, Azure). - Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and use observability tools to investigate issues and improve reliability. Must: - 4+ years of experience in QA Automation, SDET, or Quality Engineering (6+ is a plus), with a real software development background - not purely manual testing. - Experience designing automation frameworks from scratch. - Strong programming skills in C# (.NET), TypeScript, or Go. - Hands-on experience testing REST APIs, distributed systems, and microservices, including containerized environments (Docker). - Solid CI/CD practices and experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, or similar). Nice to have (not blocking) Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. Familiarity with Contract Testing frameworks, e.g. Pact. Experience with load/performance testing tools like JMeter or k6. Knowledge of Azure services such as App Services, AKS, or Log Analytics/KQL. Experience testing systems that interact with physical hardware or simulators. Comfortable with observability and troubleshooting in distributed architectures. Familiarity with tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, RestAssured, or Karate. The team and ways of working The role supports several engineering teams at once, not just one. The first 3-6 months include close collaboration with the person currently leading QA strategy, to ensure a structured knowledge transfer. After that, you’ll operate with autonomy inside an international, distributed engineering organization. The team is spread across several European locations and works in an agile, collaborative way.
