Job description

As a direct-to-consumer e-commerce company, our digital products are part of the Canyon DNA and a key factor in delivering our brand experience to our customers. We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) who owns the infrastructure behind our apps - including our Backend for Frontend architecture in Azure - and the deployment processes that ship them. You will act as an important interface between our various digital products, and you’ll value active contribution and the continuous optimisation of existing processes to improve ourselves as a team and, above all, our solutions., Provision, set up, and operate the infrastructure for our apps, including our Backend for Frontend architecture in Azure.

CI/CD Optimization

Maintain and improve our Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) tooling.

Process Automation

Automate build, deployment, and release processes to make shipping safe and repeatable.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform across our Azure environments.

As you grow into the role:
Strategic Infrastructure Ownership

Own the strategy, provisioning, and administration of the infrastructure behind our deployment, monitoring, and test automation processes.

Platform Development

Continuously develop and optimise our processes and software platforms.

Interface Management

Act as the interface between app development and our e-commerce and CRM systems.

Observability & Operational Readiness

Strengthen observability and operational readiness through structured monitoring, logging, and alerting.

Requirements

We build and operate our platforms on Azure and automate everything we can. Specific experience with these tools is a plus, but strong fundamentals matter most.

Microsoft Azure

Infrastructure as Code with Terraform

Backend for Frontend architecture in Azure

Server systems (Windows, Mac, Linux)

CI/CD & Automation

Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines

Automated build, deployment, and release processes

DevOps tooling (e.g. Azure DevOps, Bitbucket)

Scripting (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby)

Observability & Operations

Monitoring, structured logging, and alerting (Grafana Cloud)

Test automation infrastructure

HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE

At least three years of professional experience in a DevOps, infrastructure, or platform role

Solid knowledge of scripting languages

Strong knowledge of MS Azure and hands-on experience with Terraform

Experience with DevOps tooling

Knowledge of various server systems

Familiarity with agile methodologies in your day-to-day work

A self-driven, independent working style combined with strong professional communication within and beyond your team

Excellent written and spoken English

A completed degree in computer science, business informatics (or a comparable field), or a vocational qualification in IT

Nice to Have

Experience supporting e-commerce and CRM systems

Containerisation and orchestration experience

Cost-awareness and performance optimisation in cloud environments

Comfort working with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Codex, Claude, or similar agentic coding environments)

Interest in connected products or the cycling domain
