A rapidly growing, globally active data center developer and operator is seeking a Director of Digital Infrastructure (Telecommunications) to lead the design, coordination, and execution of telecom infrastructure across its hyperscale portfolio.
With established sites across North America, Europe, and Latin America-and significant expansion planned-this is a high-impact leadership role overseeing regional teams, global standards, and large-scale project delivery across mission critical environments., This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving telecom engineering strategy, managing distributed teams, and ensuring consistent, high-quality execution across multiple regions. The role spans both technical oversight and operational leadership, with a focus on hyperscale data center development., * Lead, mentor, and scale regional telecom engineering teams across multiple geographies
- Allocate resources, manage workloads, and drive high-performance delivery
- Serve as the technical authority and escalation point for internal teams, design partners, and Tier 1 carriers
- Own departmental CapEx/OpEx budgets, vendor selection, and contract negotiations
- Enforce structured project governance, sequencing, and internal standards, * Oversee and approve telecom design packages across global data center projects
- Define and govern OSP, ISP, ICN, and interconnection strategies at campus and metro scale
- Lead carrier-neutral design, fiber routing strategies, and MMR standards
- Direct structured cabling design and long-term scalability planning
- Ensure alignment with redundancy models (N, N+1, 2N, 2N+1) and fault-tolerant design principles
- Maintain compliance with TIA-942, BICSI, IEEE, and regional standards
Project Delivery & Execution
- Oversee multiple hyperscale deployments simultaneously across AMER and LATAM, with global input
- Identify risks, gaps, and design conflicts-driving proactive solutions
- Establish and maintain telecom design standards and best practices across the portfolio
- Review and approve design documentation, drawings, and markups (Bluebeam, Visio, CAD)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with construction, network engineering, IT, and executive teams
- Lead telecom audits and long-term capacity planning initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of telecom or network infrastructure experience
- 5+ years within mission critical or hyperscale data center environments
- Proven experience managing global or multi-region teams and deployments
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive technical decisions and enforce standards
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, and complex project delivery
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Visio, CAD, and related tools
- Highly organized, with strong project management and documentation skills
Preferred Experience
- Background working across U.S., LATAM, EMEA, and APAC markets
- Deep expertise in fiber infrastructure, structured cabling, and carrier interconnection
- Strong understanding of industry standards and compliance frameworks
- Certifications such as BICSI RCDD, PMP, CCNP
