Job description
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer who thrives under pressure and demonstrates exceptional attention to detail. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to identify and resolve issues swiftly and efficiently while ensuring the seamless implementation of new technologies into production. You will be responsible for managing expectations and delivering solutions in challenging environments.
As a technical expert, you will play a key role in implementing changes, performing upgrades, and diagnosing issues within the network engineering team. Additionally, you will contribute to incident response efforts as part of the broader IT operations team., * Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Provide technical fault-finding and manage network incidents. Support IT colleagues by resolving a mix of 2nd and 3rd line tickets, acting as the final escalation point for the Network Operations team.
- Diagnosis & Resolution: Diagnose and resolve network incidents, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and implemented safely and effectively.
- Network Availability: Maintain high levels of network availability and resilience, ensuring the CMDB and documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Quality Standards: Perform work to the highest quality standards while adhering to corporate policies and standards.
Requirements
- Certifications: Cisco CCNP certification is essential. Additional Cisco qualifications or other networking certifications are highly desirable.
- Data Centre Networking: Expert-level knowledge of Data Centre Networking and Cisco ACI is mandatory.
- Cisco Technologies: Strong experience with Cisco IOS (R&S), including switch stacks, wireless (Cisco WLC), and Cisco ISE.
- Cloud Networking: Solid experience with Microsoft Azure networking, including ExpressRoute connectivity.
- Firewall Security: In-depth knowledge of industry best practices for firewall security policies, root cause analysis, and low-level troubleshooting.
- Palo Alto Firewalls: Extensive experience with Palo Alto firewalls in a large corporate environment.
- Technical Collaboration: Experience working with other technical teams and specialists. Familiarity with copper and fibre cabling and related troubleshooting.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex technical information to diverse audiences. Proactively suggest improvements and contribute to the team roadmap.
Flexibility: Willingness to lead or assist with out-of-hours network changes during evenings or weekends as required.
