Job description

This position assists in the supervision of all activities related to the daily operations and post-processing of all Photogrammetry and imagery data compiled by the Remote Sensing Unit., * Supervises and works along with staff in Photogrammetry data extraction/compilation generated and maintained by the Office of Engineering. Oversees and assists in production of detailed Photogrammetry derivative products as requested.

  • Supervises the development, implementation, and upgrading of the latest technology with Photogrammetry applications. Establishes equipment and product needs, including computer hardware and software and writes justifications for purchase.
  • Serves as the designated DOTD representative to federal, state and local agencies, the Photogrammetry industry and the public.
  • Represents DOTD in Photogrammetry activities pertaining to enterprise implementation, data collection, mapping and analysis at GIS conferences, seminars, workshops, and training sessions to improve and stay abreast of the latest advances in Photogrammetry and related technologies.
  • Supervises and assists in the production of various types of graphics and digital or photographic slides of special purpose maps, GIS statistics and results of modeling using a variety of software products including production of high-level GIS demonstrations with multimedia hardware and software.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technology management?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Six years of experience in using geographic information systems (GIS), using digital mapping and/or surveying technology, or in aerial photography; OR

Twelve semester hours in a computer science, GIS, or geospatial field plus five years of experience in using geographic information systems, using digital mapping and/or surveying technology, or in aerial photography; OR

A bachelor’s degree with twelve semester hours in a computer science, GIS, or geospatial field plus four years of experience in using geographic information systems, using digital mapping and/or surveying technology, or in aerial photography.
