Job description

The Business Applications Analyst serves as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders, clinical operations, and Information Technology to ensure enterprise applications effectively support organizational objectives. This role is responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, configuring and supporting enterprise applications, and driving continuous process improvements across clinical, financial, operational, and communication platforms. The Business Applications Analyst provides functional support for a portfolio of enterprise applications, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Contact Center/VoIP, Human Resources, Revenue Cycle, and other business-critical systems. The analyst works closely with departments to improve workflows, implement new functionality, support system integrations, and ensure applications meet operational, regulatory, and organizational needs. Responsibilities: Business Process Analysis * Partner with business and clinical stakeholders to understand operational challenges and identify

technology solutions.

  • Analyze current workflows and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity,

and user satisfaction.

  • Gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
  • Develop workflow diagrams, process maps, and functional specifications.
  • Participate in business processes, redesign and digital transformation initiatives.

Enterprise Application Support Provide Functional support for enterprise applications including:

  • Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Revenue Cycle Management
  • Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Contact Center and VoIP platforms
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
  • Document Management Systems
  • Business Intelligence and Reporting tools

Responsibilities include:

  • Application configuration and maintenance
  • User support and issue resolution

  • Workflow optimization
  • Application testing
  • Vendor coordination
  • System documentation

Requirements & Solution Design

  • Translate business needs into functional system requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement solutions.
  • Evaluate application enhancements and new technologies.
  • Recommend best practices and process improvements.
  • Participate in solution design sessions with vendors and internal teams.

Project Support

  • Participate in enterprise application implementations and upgrades.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Develop test scripts and validation documentation.
  • Support project planning, deployment, and post-implementation activities.
  • Assist with system conversions and data migration efforts.

Integration & Data Management

  • Collaborate with integration teams to support interfaces between enterprise systems.
  • Validate data quality and system functionality.
  • Assist in troubleshooting interface and integration issues.
  • Support API, HL7, FHIR, and third-party application integrations where applicable.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop operational reports and dashboards.
  • Analyze application utilization and system performance.
  • Identify trends and recommend operational improvements.
  • Support leadership with business intelligence and reporting initiatives.

Training & Change Management

  • Develop end-user training materials.
  • Conduct application training sessions.
  • Create knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist departments with change management and adoption of new system functionality.

Vendor Management

  • Coordinate with software vendors regarding support requests, enhancements, upgrades, and issue

resolution.

  • Participate in vendor meetings and product demonstrations.
  • Assist in evaluating new applications and technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience integrating with systems such as eClinicalWorks, ERP, and VoIP
  • Prior experience in a healthcare provider
  • Understanding of interoperability regulations

Required Experience: 2+ years of experience in interface development, configuration, and support within healthcare IT., * Business process analysis
