Job description

The Product Owner is a member of the IT Development Team and has accountability for both the technology landscape within all store concepts and the SAP platform enabling core capabilities for the Order to Cash (OTC) process. This functional role focuses on executing roadmaps, leveraging technology capabilities to maximize stakeholder adoption, driving innovation, and ensuring the overall user experience is aligned and integrated with IT and business strategies., Strategy, Roadmaps & Capability Management

  • Responsible for defining, managing, and owning Retail capabilities and the SAP Platform in alignment with business partners and IT strategies.
  • Responsible for mapping end-to-end business processes to solution capabilities across COEs and coordinating with peer Product Owners.
  • Owns and maintains capability catalogs for both the Retail Technology and Back Office Systems Capability Groups.
  • Executes against the IT, Retail, and Back Office Roadmaps aligned to business objectives and IT strategies.
  • Proactively communicates capability roadmaps and IT strategies to all key stakeholders and other IT CoEs.
  • Identifies and develops opportunities to leverage the capabilities of the SAP platform, creating long-term value to achieve business objectives.

Solution Delivery & Project Execution

  • Accountable to facilitate solution design and drive delivery across cost, schedule, and scope, including the mitigation of risks and issues.
  • Validates and signs off on new solution designs, projects, and enhancements to ensure they meet business requirements and objectives.
  • Delivers solutions and automation with a focus on enhancing the customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Manages capability management on projects, executing tactics aligned with strategy and communicating goals at a strategic level.
  • Manages the supportability of solutions, including safeguarding the integrity of the upgrade path.
  • Maximizes the value of available tools and applications, continually looking for improvements and application rationalization (including eliminating applications with duplicate capabilities).

Stakeholder Collaboration & Vendor Partnerships

  • Build and maintain effective, collaborative, credible working relationships and active communication across CoEs and diverse business leaders.
  • Act as a reliable conduit of information between different teams, knowledgeably responding to questions from any stakeholder.
  • Owns day-to-day relationships and builds strong partnerships with SAP and other Retail Technology vendors.
  • Manages multiple vendor relationships to ensure the best performance, compliance with approved guidelines, and maximum financial return.
  • Stays current with vendor product roadmaps, emerging innovations, and industry best practices to effectively apply them to the company’s technology landscape and key business goals.
  • Operates with an ā€œAll For Oneā€ approach to achieving organization-wide priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; technology or related disciplines preferred.
  • 3 or more years of Product Ownership (or similar delivery role) experience in Retail Technology and backend solution delivery.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA across the core Order to Cash (OTC) processes, including SD, MM, FI, CO, and EWM.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams or vendors, achieving timely and effective results through internal and external partners.
  • Demonstration of required technical delivery skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor management (Note: day-to-day project schedule and financial management is outside the scope of core SAP project execution) .
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement comprehensive solutions, with the insight to select and integrate the most appropriate technologies to support business needs.
  • Strong negotiation skills with internal customers and external service providers ; able to build consensus around key initiatives across all levels of the organization.

  • Exceptional oral and written interpersonal communication skills; highly capable of articulating technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate ambiguity or unexpected changes with flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • A dedicated team player who builds trust through a commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards, showing professionalism and good judgment at all times.
