Job description
About the RoleWe’re looking for a reliable and customer-focused IT Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on technical support to onsite employees and use remote support tools to assist employees working off-site - no travel to remote employees required. You’ll be the go-to person for resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues, helping ensure every employee has what they need to stay productive. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys problem-solving and wants to grow their career in IT.What You’ll Do
- Serve as a primary point of contact for incoming help desk tickets, answering and triaging requests from both onsite and remote employees
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues for onsite and remote employees
- Set up, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, and peripheral equipment
- Enroll, configure, and manage devices using Microsoft Intune, including policy deployment and compliance monitoring
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access requests (VPN, email, applications)
- Support onboarding for new hires, including equipment setup and account provisioning for onsite and remote staff
- Provide in-person, hands-on support at employee desks, and use remote desktop tools to assist off-site employees
- Document issues, resolutions, and processes in the ticketing system
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or systems administrators
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and coordinate shipping/repairs as needed
- Provide basic training on software, systems, and security best practices
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1-3 years of experience in a help desk or IT support role
- Experience supporting remote employees a plus
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Mac operating systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft products and services (Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, Exchange, etc.), with hands-on experience in Microsoft Intune for device management strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of networking basics (VPN, Wi-Fi, DNS)
- Strong communication skills - able to explain technical concepts clearly and patiently
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel occasionally and be available for after-hours support as needed
- CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification a plus (not required)
