Job description

Assist R&D and Product Testing group’s efforts by building and maintaining data pipelines, dashboards, and other automated reporting infrastructure., * Maintain data infrastructure for Eos battery cycling lab, including data transfer processes, metadata database, and linux server.

  • Maintain and develop R&D’s research management tool suite, including data plotting, experiment tracking, test tracking, and build & materials tracking dashboards.
  • Develop and support new automated data pipelines and dashboards to support future R&D and Product Testing projects. In particular, customize and integrate data solutions for string and container level systems testing exercises at the Edison facility.
  • Support custom data reporting and tracking requirements.
  • Work with R&D staff to maintain and execute development plan for build out of research support tool suite for continual improvement and to address new requirements as they arise.

Requirements

  • Strong general-purpose scripting skills
  • Experience with data visualization
  • Python strongly preferred (numerical/data packages such as Numpy, Pandas, Scipy, etc… beneficial).
  • Some knowledge of SQL databases.
  • Basic familiarity with Linux.
  • Ability to work independently and well within a team.
  • Experience with versioning tools (git) and generating documentation.

Any of the below are beneficial:

  • Experience building interactive dashboards
  • Experience with automated data handling systems
  • Experience with plotly dash.
  • Experience interfacing with physical hardware interfaces from sensors/data acquisition platforms.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a physical science or similar required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience.

Working Conditions

  • Office Environment - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May be required to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
