Job description

We are seeking a Lead Functional Business Analyst for a 12 month contract consultant position (extension eligible) specialized in utility enterprise assets to spearhead a major operational upgrade. With the industry shifting away from legacy tools, our team is systematically modernizing our routing, scheduling, and mobile execution environments. This role acts as the primary conduit between field supervisors and corporate IT delivery teams. Requires 1x Monthly Team On-Site in So Cal, CA)

Key Areas of Impact:

  • Workflow Harmonization: Facilitate collaborative design sessions with field leadership to capture operational constraints, capacity planning rules, and emergency triage protocols.
  • Functional Spec : Translate field requirements into operational specs and Agile user stories that guide our delivery roadmap, ensuring technical teams understand the real-world operational context.
  • SAP Asset Integration: Partner with data owners to ensure field status data maps correctly back to core asset environments, specifically SAP PM (Plant Maintenance).
  • Functional Deployment & Change Management: Manage standard functional configuration within SAP FSM, lead end-to-end user acceptance testing cycles, and gather field feedback to ensure high user adoption.

Requirements

  • Utility Infrastructure Background: 5+ years supporting field operations or asset management within a utility framework (Gas, Electric, or Water operations).
  • Systems Expertise: Working functional knowledge of how legacy workforce management tools like ClickSoftware route and schedule crews, alongside proven experience implementing or optimizing SAP FSM and SAP Service and Asset Manager (SSAM).
  • Integration Awareness: A clear grasp of standard field-to-back-office integration points, particularly how mobile tools update SAP PM or core customer utility data.
  • Consultative Execution: Highly articulate, comfortable managing cross-functional stakeholder groups, and dedicated to clear business requirements over developer jargon.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Able to work effectively from a home office, with the commitment to travel to our office location monthly for design alignments as required.
