Job description

LoadUp is redefining the tech-enabled home services marketplace. We are seeking a design-minded Front-End Software Engineer to help architect and build the next generation of our web and mobile experiences.

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of engineering and user experience, collaborating closely with our Directors of Engineering and Product to build polished, performant, and accessible interfaces for customers, drivers, and internal teams. We embrace a modern, AI-augmented development workflow-if you love using cutting-edge tools to move fast and build beautiful products, you will thrive here., * Build Cross-Platform Experiences: Develop and deliver high-quality UIs across our web platforms using React and our mobile ecosystems using React Native and Expo.

  • Evolve Our Design System: Build, maintain, and scale LoadUp’s shared component library to ensure UX consistency across all products.
  • Ship Seamless Integrations: Connect with backend RESTful APIs, thoughtfully handling authentication, caching, optimistic updates, and loading patterns.
  • Leverage AI Tooling: Utilize modern AI-powered development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development velocity and maintain code quality.
  • Prototype & Validate: Build interactive prototypes and proof-of-concepts to rapidly validate fresh design and product mechanics.

Requirements

  • Core Engineering Strength: 6+ years of practical front-end experience (or a BS in CS/Design/HCI) with extensive production experience in React, TypeScript, and Vite.
  • Mobile Mastery: Proven proficiency building and deploying cross-platform mobile apps using React Native and Expo.
  • A Sharp Eye for UX: Strong experience translating complex design tool outputs into clean, production-ready code with a solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication skills and a passion for partnering across product, design, and backend engineering teams.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experience with headless UI libraries (Radix UI, Headless UI, React Aria).
  • Familiarity with App Store/Google Play publishing and native iOS/Android concepts.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and front-end observability/error monitoring tools.
