Job description

Insight Global is looking to hire a Platform Engineer in the Reston, VA area who will work hands on developing and automating CI/CD pipelines within an enterprise DevSecOps platform. This individual will build and package Kubernetes containers and engineer GitLab CI/CD pipelines that move those containers through automated build, security scanning, and deployment workflows. The role focuses on pipeline development and automation, ensuring containerized applications are delivered in a secure, repeatable, and compliant manner.

*Depending on experience, the engineer will develop and support GitLab CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes workloads running in either on prem environments (Rancher RKE2) and/or AWS cloud environments (EKS, ECR, ECS).

Requirements

  • 5+ years of development experience in a DevOps environment

  • Strong Kubernetes and container workflow experience, including building container images and deploying them through CI/CD pipelines (not just cluster administration)

  • 3+ years of experience with automation and infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Puppet (Terraform strongly preferred)

  • 3+ years of experience managing Git-based version control systems and building new CI/CD pipelines (GitLab pipeline development experience is preferred)

  • Strong experience working with JSON/YAML/XML/Helm charts

  • Hands-on experience developing and engineering CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes platforms in either on-prem environments (e.g., Rancher, RKE2) or AWS cloud environments (EKS, ECR, ECS)

  • Familiarity with container security practices, including how container images are scanned and validated within CI/CD pipelines (experience with CAS or Keycloak is a plus)

  • DoD 8570 Security+ or CISSP Certification - Certifications in Agile, DevOps, or Cloud technologies
