Tech stack

Machine Learning SONAR (Symantec) Navsea

Job description

Your role is operational realism. You review our technical approaches before submission and during funded work, correct anything a fleet operator would recognize as wrong, advise on how sonar teams actually work at sea, and join occasional government calls.

Requirements

We are looking for a retired Navy sonar professional - a senior sonar technician, chief, officer, or NAVSEA/ONR engineer with 15 or more years in undersea systems - to join the consultant bench at Precision Federal, a small business building machine learning for passive sonar tracking, mine countermeasures sonar, and maritime autonomy under the federal SBIR program., * Are you a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident?

  • Do you have at least 10 years of experience in this field?
  • Are you willing to be named, with written consent, as a consultant on federal SBIR proposals?

Benefits & conditions

This is project-based consulting: when a contract in your domain is funded, you consult roughly 40 to 80 hours across its 6 to 12 month period, fully remote, at 100 to 125 dollars per hour on a 1099 basis. Between funded contracts there are no hours and no obligation, which makes this seat well suited to retirement or an existing practice. With your written consent, we also name you and a short bio on proposals in your field.

U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
