Job description

Shape the future of Battery Management Systems at Melexis by combining embedded software, hardware and customer support in an innovative semiconductor environment.

Help bring a new generation of battery sensing ICs to market by developing reference systems and supporting customers worldwide.

Specifically, as a Senior Application Engineer in Tessenderlo, your tasks will include:

  • Develop embedded software, drivers and Python-based evaluation tools
  • Build Battery Management System (BMS) reference platforms to demonstrate the performance of Melexis battery sensing ICs
  • Support Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers, on-site and remotely, in hardware integration, software implementation and technical troubleshooting
  • Debug hardware and firmware issues using laboratory equipment and battery emulators
  • Translate customer feedback into product requirements together with IC design teams
  • Create application notes, reference designs and software documentation
  • Collaborate with an international multidisciplinary engineering team

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Embedded Systems or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Application Engineering, Firmware Engineering or Systems Engineering
  • Experience with Embedded C, basic knowledge of Python, PCB layouts and low-level communication protocols (SPI, I2C,…)
  • Strong understanding of mixed-signal fundamentals and knowledge of Battery Management Systems
  • Self-driven, hands-on team player with excellent communication skills
