Senior/Staff Software Engineer (Base Up to $270K + Equity)

We are seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to architect and build the foundational platform that powers next-generation AI-driven financial automation. If you’ve built foundational platform or infrastructure systems at scale, successfully delivered high-impact cross-functional engineering projects that are running in production, and use AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar as part of your daily workflow, we’d love to hear from you. In this role, you’ll own the core infrastructure, distributed systems, and financial data platform that enable engineering teams to build scalable, reliable products. You’ll collaborate directly with customers, finance professionals, and cross-functional teams to translate complex workflows into reusable platform capabilities while helping shape the technical foundation of a fast-growing, high-impact startup. Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the core platform infrastructure, including agent frameworks, orchestration services, observability, verification systems, and developer tooling used across engineering teams.
• Architect scalable financial data platforms that ingest, normalize, reconcile, and manage data from enterprise systems such as ERPs, banking platforms, payroll, billing, and CRM applications.
• Partner directly with customers, controllers, and finance stakeholders to understand business workflows and translate them into robust, reusable platform abstractions.
• Lead technical architecture decisions, evaluate trade-offs, identify bottlenecks, and deliver scalable backend and full-stack solutions in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Drive cross-functional engineering initiatives that improve platform capabilities, accelerate developer productivity, and support company-wide product growth.
• Contribute across the technology stack when needed, building backend services, APIs, and frontend components while maintaining high standards for performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• 4-12 years of experience in backend or platform software engineering, with strong proficiency in Python and experience building scalable distributed systems.
• Proven track record of building foundational platform or infrastructure systems at scale and delivering high-impact, cross-functional engineering projects that have successfully scaled in production.
• Experience working in an early-stage startup (pre-Series B preferred), with the ability to thrive in resource-constrained, high-growth environments.
• Strong understanding of financial systems, enterprise integrations, or data platforms, including experience with ERPs, payments, accounting, ledger systems, or financial data pipelines.
• Full-stack development capabilities with experience using TypeScript and React, along with cloud technologies such as AWS. Fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar is required.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work directly with customers and business stakeholders, influence technical direction, and lead cross-functional initiatives., * How many years of professional experience do you have in backend or platform software engineering using Python?

• Do you have professional experience building software in any of the following domains: fintech, accounting, ERP systems, payments, banking, or ledger/financial infrastructure?
• Have you used AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar professionally?
• Have you designed and built distributed systems and large-scale data infrastructure in a production environment?
• Do you have experience with TypeScript/React?
• Are you comfortable communicating directly with customers or business stakeholders (e.g., finance teams, controllers, CFOs) to understand requirements and propose technical solutions?
