Senior Software Development Engineer

The Senior Software Developer will work in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, application design, system development, testing and implementation. Senior Software Developer develops specifications for moderately complex software programming applications and modifies/maintains the existing software. This role develops, modifies and maintains applications that may be customized or standardized. This position participates in design and coding activities with other staff members., · Collaborate with the Research & Development team to design, develop, and enhance new and existing software applications.

· Identify and recommend improvements for current and future software development projects.

· Manage source code using Azure DevOps and follow version control best practices.

· Provide technical expertise to support clients and development teams integrating software services into their applications.

· Develop high-quality, maintainable code that meets architectural, design, and testing requirements.

· Evaluate the impact of code changes across the application to ensure system stability and reliability.

· Analyze user feedback to optimize application functionality and improve SQL query performance.

· Collaborate with architects, team leads, and business analysts to validate requirements, clarify design decisions, and address technical concerns.

· Maintain and enhance internally developed applications while providing ongoing technical support.

· Communicate project progress, development status, and potential risks to stakeholders on a regular basis.

· Assist the production support team with troubleshooting, defect analysis, and issue resolution.

· Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support future software development and maintenance efforts.

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

· 3-6 years of experience in full-stack software development with a strong understanding of software engineering principles.

· Proficiency in C#, .NET, and the MVC framework, including application development from concept through deployment, maintenance, and enhancements.

· Strong experience with HTML, CSS, and modern front-end frameworks such as React or similar technologies.

· At least 1 year of experience with hardware communication using USB or Serial interfaces.

· Advanced proficiency in writing, optimizing, and executing Microsoft SQL queries.

· Experience developing and consuming Web APIs(REST) and using API testing tools such as Postman.

· Hands-on experience with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

· Experience working in Agile development environments, including participation in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and code reviews.

· Proficiency with Git for version control.

· Ability to write clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-documented code.

· Self-motivated with a strong drive to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

· Knowledge of Raspberry Pi, including application development and deployment

· Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and command-line tools

· Familiarity with SQLite database design, querying, and management

· Basic knowledge of hardware communication protocols and interfacing (e.g., UART, I2C, SPI, GPIO)

· Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, or similar code generation and completion tools
