QA Automation engineer with Mainframe experience - Remote

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer with robust Mainframe experience to join our dynamic remote team. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks, focusing on Mainframe applications integrated with modern technologies. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement in our testing processes, supporting seamless software releases and high-quality user experiences across diverse platforms., * Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, and Cucumber to validate Mainframe and web-based applications.

• Design and execute functional, system, performance, regression, and user acceptance tests for mobile applications on Android and iOS platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze system specifications, and translate them into effective test cases and automation scripts.
• Perform root cause analysis on defects identified during testing phases; troubleshoot issues related to software bugs, system integration, or network configurations.
• Utilize version control systems like SVN and GitHub for managing test scripts; integrate automation workflows within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Conduct API testing of RESTful services using tools such as Postman or REST-assured; verify data integrity with SQL databases including MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and DB2.
• Support performance testing efforts with LoadRunner or similar tools; analyze system bottlenecks and provide actionable insights for optimization.
• Participate in Agile development cycles by contributing to requirements gathering sessions, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of test plans, test cases, defect reports within HP ALM or Jira; ensure traceability throughout the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
• Provide technical support during release management phases; assist in deploying updates while ensuring minimal disruption to end-users.

• Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer with a strong focus on Mainframe systems integration within an enterprise environment.
• Extensive hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber (BDD), and scripting languages including Java, Python, C#, and Bash (Unix shell).
• Solid understanding of mobile testing frameworks for Android and iOS applications; familiarity with Appium or similar mobile automation tools is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of API testing methodologies involving RESTful APIs and SOAP web services; proficient in JSON and XML data formats.
• Strong database skills including SQL querying (SQL Server, MySQL), PL/SQL scripting for data validation and analysis.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban; familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab.
• Knowledge of system troubleshooting techniques related to network configurations, service-oriented architecture (SOA), cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is advantageous.
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Jira or HP ALM; ability to document issues clearly and follow through on resolution processes.
• Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis effectively while supporting quality assurance initiatives within IT environments.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced development settings.
