Job description

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gain access to and understanding of key data sources supporting aircraft maintenance, manpower and related initiatives.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, issues, and opportunities that inform leadership decision-making.
  • Enhance existing dashboards and develop new visualizations that clearly communicate insights related to aircraft maintenance, manpower, readiness, and operational priorities.
  • Partner with force development leadership, action officers, and other stakeholders to brainstorm and deliver innovative approaches for telling stories with data.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise visual products and briefings tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support data preparation, mining, and exploratory analysis efforts using a mix of BI and analytical tools.
  • Contribute to predictive and prescriptive analytics efforts, where applicable, using statistical and programming-based approaches.
  • Engage professionally with senior leaders and stakeholders in a fast-paced military setting.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance or higher
  • Experience with Excel and at least one or more analytical/programming tools such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Strong data visualization and data storytelling skills
  • Ability to work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, refine analytical questions, and deliver actionable insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting regularly with senior leaders in a military or similarly structured environment
  • Ability to co-locate on client site 2-3 days per week

Preferred Skills:

  • Department of Defense experience
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry for data manipulation, aggregation, engineering, dashboarding and report
  • Familiarity with military rank structure and organization, including USAF and USMC
  • Knowledge of advanced mathematics and statistics, with the ability to apply programming to combine data from multiple sources and support predictive or prescriptive modeling
  • Experience operating in a government, defense, or highly regulated environmentā€, Expected Deliverables: Models, Dashboards, Tools, Workflows, Reports (PowerPoint/Word) as required.
