Job description

This role focuses on providing frontline technical support to warehouse operations, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth daily workflows. You will work closely with senior engineers while gaining hands-on experience with warehouse-specific hardware, network troubleshooting, and IT asset management in a high-volume operational environment.

Key Responsibilities1. Network & Site Monitoring (Entry-Level)

  • Assist in performing wired and wireless network signal tests throughout the warehouse, recording signal strength, speed, and stability.
  • Conduct mobile data connectivity tests on PDA devices across warehouse zones.
  • Monitor server room peripherals, including:
  • Temperature
  • Humidity
  • UPS status
  • Security camera NVR systems
  • Document findings during routine inspections.
  • Escalate network abnormalities to supervisors or the Infrastructure team with clear fault descriptions.
  1. Day-to-Day Warehouse IT Support

Serve as the first point of contact for IT incidents and service requests submitted through the ticketing system.

Provide support for:

Warehouse Devices

  • PDA / handheld scanners (Honeywell, Zebra)
  • Restart
  • Reconfiguration
  • Basic troubleshooting
  • Label printers
  • Barcode readers
  • PDA firmware upgrades using local tools or SD card methods
  • MAC address collection and production network whitelist requests

Warehouse Equipment

  • Sorting machines
  • Conveyor systems
  • Electronic weighing scales
  • Industrial PCs (IPC)
  • System wipe
  • OS reimaging
  • PXE boot configuration (under supervision)

Windows Support

Troubleshoot:

  • Windows slow performance
  • Blue Screen (BSOD) recovery
  • Driver installation and updates
  • KMS activation
  • Printer issues
  • Paper tray selection
  • USB recognition
  • Driver installation

End User Support

Support:

  • Desktop computers
  • Laptops
  • Monitors

  1. Ticketing, Documentation & Asset Management * Log all incidents and service requests in the IT ticketing system. * Track time spent on all tickets and assigned tasks. * Maintain the warehouse IT knowledge base and documentation. * Process IT asset requests, including approvals, allocation, and delivery. * Manage damaged devices by: * Assessing repair options * Coordinating returns * Managing retirement and recycling processes

  2. Data Security & Device Decommission * Follow company data security policies. * Perform secure data wipes before devices are transferred or shipped. * Complete Windows and macOS disk wiping. * Remove and securely handle hard drives when remote wipe is not possible. * Assist with remote access permission management.

  3. Shift Coverage & Escalation * Work a standard 40-hour work week with occasional overtime as needed. * Participate in incident response during assigned shifts. * Complete detailed shift handover documentation. * Escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers or specialized IT teams, including: * Network * Hardware * Security * Audio/Visual (AV)

Requirements

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT Support Specialist - Warehouse Operations to join our IT team at a fast-paced e-commerce fulfillment center., * 0-2 years of IT support experience.

  • Recent graduates and career changers are encouraged to apply.
  • Internship or part-time experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or retail environments is a plus.

Hardware Knowledge

Basic familiarity with:

  • Barcode scanners
  • Label printers
  • PDA devices
  • Rugged mobile computers

or the ability to quickly learn new hardware.

Operating Systems

  • Windows installation and troubleshooting
  • Driver installation and updates
  • Basic Windows administration
  • macOS knowledge is a plus

Networking

Basic understanding of:

  • TCP/IP
  • DHCP
  • DNS
  • Wi-Fi
  • Ping
  • Tracert

Ticketing Systems

Experience with or exposure to:

  • ServiceNow
  • Jira
  • Other IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms

Communication

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical warehouse employees.

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable working on a warehouse floor.
  • Able to stand for extended periods.
  • Able to lift equipment up to 40 lbs (18 kg).

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with one or more of the following are preferred:

  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Equivalent entry-level IT certifications
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM/EMM)
  • Basic scripting using:
  • PowerShell
  • Python
  • Bash
  • Experience with RF network testing and wireless signal mapping
  • Experience supporting:
  • Industrial PCs (IPC)
  • Conveyor systems
  • Sorting machines
  • Bilingual:
  • English & Mandarin
