Job description

The Digital Print & Vinyl Technician is responsible for producing high-quality signage and graphic products using large-format printing and vinyl production equipment. This role involves file preparation, printing, finishing, and installation of a variety of signage applications including banners, vehicle graphics, window films, wall murals, and dimensional sign faces. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and experienced in sign shop production workflows., Production & Printing

  • Operate large-format printers (eco-solvent, latex, or UV) to produce signage and graphics
  • Set up and manage print jobs through RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera, FlexiSIGN)
  • Monitor print quality, color consistency, and material usage throughout production
  • Perform routine printer maintenance, including cleaning print heads and calibrating equipment

Vinyl Cutting & Finishing

  • Operate vinyl plotters to produce cut graphics, lettering, and decals
  • Weed, mask, laminate, mount, and trim printed and cut vinyl
  • Apply overlaminates and specialty finishes for durability and appearance
  • Prepare substrates including ACM, PVC, acrylic, aluminum, and corrugated materials

Quality Control & Workflow

  • Review work orders and proofs to ensure accuracy before production
  • Inspect finished products for defects, alignment, and color accuracy
  • Package and prepare orders for delivery or installation
  • Maintain an organized, clean production area

Requirements

  • Experience with complex vinyl installations
  • Knowledge of color management, ICC profiles, and print calibration
  • Familiarity with various sign materials and fabrication methods
  • Experience using RIP software (Onyx, Flexi, Caldera, etc.)
  • Basic electrical or fabrication knowledge (for illuminated signage a plus)
  • OSHA or safety training (preferred for installation work)

Work Environment

  • Sign shop production floor and installation sites
  • Exposure to inks, adhesives, and cutting equipment
  • Work may require tight deadlines and occasional overtime, * Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs and meet deadlines
  • Team-oriented mindset with solid communication skills
  • Commitment to producing high-quality signage products
