Job description
Cyber B.A.T. is seeking a System Engineer to support mission-critical government programs by leading systems engineering activities throughout the system development lifecycle. This position focuses on requirements analysis, system architecture, integration, technical documentation, and engineering leadership while working closely with government stakeholders and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver secure, enterprise-scale solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze customer requirements, Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), and high-level architectures to develop system requirements and technical specifications
- Lead systems engineering activities throughout the system development lifecycle
- Guide customers and stakeholders in refining requirements and evaluating technical solutions
- Develop and maintain system architecture and system design documentation
- Produce and contribute to Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs), Requirements Specifications, and other engineering documentation
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to develop new system capabilities
- Support system integration, implementation planning, verification, validation, and testing activities
- Coordinate engineering efforts across Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), design reviews, test reviews, and program reviews
- Analyze functional and derived requirements and allocate them across hardware, software, personnel, and facilities
- Develop system concepts, physical architectures, and engineering design solutions
- Support interface definition, interface management, and system configuration throughout the system lifecycle
- Establish and maintain requirements traceability while managing changes throughout development and operations
- Conduct risk assessments and support risk mitigation planning
- Support DoD Certification & Accreditation (C&A) activities and system verification planning
- Assist in the development of Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) documentation
- Develop operational concepts, system scenarios, and end-to-end engineering analyses
- Coordinate system integration activities across multiple engineering organizations
- Ensure technical integrity of engineering deliverables throughout development, deployment, and sustainment
- Communicate technical information with government customers, engineering teams, and senior leadership
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI Clearance with a current Maryland Polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline
- Five (5) additional years of directly related Systems Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of fourteen (14) years of Systems Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope, complexity, and mission
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting the legal or technical aspects of Intelligence Community Privacy Compliance
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with NSA systems architecture
- Experience managing system requirements and derived requirements within enterprise environments
- Experience supporting Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and/or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Experience developing systems engineering documentation, including requirements specifications, interface documentation, engineering plans, and technical reports
- Experience supporting systems integration, design reviews, verification, validation, and testing
- Experience participating in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and cross-functional engineering efforts
- Experience supporting Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and engineering change management
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and technical leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively with government customers, engineers, and senior leadership in mission-focused environments
