Data Architect

seeking a Senior Data Architect to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for enterprise data platforms, analytics environments, data integration systems, and scalable data solutions. The selected consultant will work closely with Enterprise Architecture teams, IT leadership, Database Administrators, Data Engineers, and BI professionals to design and implement enterprise-grade data architecture aligned with agency business needs and long-term modernization initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in enterprise data modeling, data integration, data governance, cloud data platforms, analytics environments, and scalable architecture best practices. Candidate must report onsite for Day 1 at: 30 E Broad Street, 13th Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215 Key Responsibilities Enterprise Data Architecture & Modeling

• Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting enterprise analytics and operational systems.
• Develop and promote enterprise data modeling standards, naming conventions, and reusable design patterns.
• Support scalable, domain-driven data architecture aligned with enterprise governance and integration strategies.
• Contribute to the agency’s enterprise data architecture roadmap and modernization efforts.
• Ensure data solutions are interoperable, reusable, and aligned with enterprise standards.

Data Platforms & Integration

• Design and optimize enterprise data integration solutions and analytics environments.
• Configure and support integrations between agency systems and enterprise data lake platforms.
• Provide architectural guidance around data cleansing, classification, transformation, and curation processes.
• Lead technical discussions related to implementation, optimization, maintenance, and operation of enterprise data systems.
• Collaborate with enterprise partners to improve data quality, accessibility, and scalability.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as a senior technical resource influencing enterprise data standards and engineering best practices.
• Partner with CIO leadership, IT managers, architects, DBAs, Data Engineers, and BI teams on enterprise initiatives.
• Evaluate solution designs and recommend architecture improvements aligned with business objectives.
• Provide technical mentorship and strategic guidance to Data Management teams.
