  • Manage the IT operating budget and oversee execution of the approved capital plan
  • Hire, develop, and manage performance of IT directors, managers, system administrators, and support staff
  • Report on operational metrics (uptime, ticket resolution, project status, budget performance) to the CIO on a regular cadence
  • Partner with the CIO on technology strategy, roadmap planning, and architecture direction
  • Develop and execute the organization’s IT strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Establish IT governance, policies, standards, and best practices
  • Manage IT budgets, capital planning, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives and identify emerging technologies that create business value

Systems & Infrastructure Operations

  • Oversee administration and support of all clinical platforms (e.g., EHR, Practice Management, Inventory Management) and business platforms (e.g., ERP, HRIS, Intranet)
  • Manage integrations between third-party medical devices (surgical equipment, imaging systems, monitoring devices) and core data sets and infrastructure
  • Maintain 99.9% uptime of critical infrastructure, including cloud networks, backup servers, and telecommunications systems
  • Establish workflows and troubleshooting protocols that minimize disruption to live surgical schedules
  • Lead execution of M&A integrations, clinical system and facility upgrades, moves, rollouts, system migrations, and multi-site data consolidations
  • Oversee data management, reporting, and analytics platforms supporting clinical and business decision-making

Security & Compliance Operations

  • Operate the organization’s cybersecurity program, including identity and access management, multi-factor authentication, endpoint encryption, and network segmentation
  • Maintain operational compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and CMS standards
  • Lead execution and monitoring of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) plans, including regular testing and after-action reporting
  • Oversee ongoing security operations: vulnerability scanning, patch management, incident response, and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training

Vendor Management

  • Manage vendor relationships and hold vendors accountable to service level agreements and scope of services
  • Monitor vendor performance, renewal timelines, and cost trends, and report findings to the CIO

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, ideally including exposure to a multi-site healthcare environment (ambulatory surgery centers, hospitals, or multi-site clinical networks)
  • 6+ years of experience leading a team responsible for infrastructure, service desk, and security operations
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) and data compliance requirements
  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure and security operations tooling
  • Strong people-management and operational execution skills, with comfort partnering with physicians and clinical staff
  • Certifications such as ITIL, CISM, CISSP, or PMP are a plus, but not required
