Job description

We are looking for a highly analytical Technical Solutions Analyst to act as the critical bridge between our operations, our clients, and our engineering team. You will be responsible for taking complex logistical requirements, mapping out exactly how they should work in the real world, and translating them into clear technical architecture for our developers to build.

Additionally, you will spend 25% of your time acting as the technical face of Zippd, helping our retail partners seamlessly integrate their systems into our API ecosystem.

Please Note: This is a strictly 100% onsite role based in our Manchester office.

  1. Core Responsibilities

Operational Flow & Process Mapping (35%)

  • Gather requirements directly from business stakeholders, operations managers, and the CTO.
  • Map out end-to-end operational workflows for both new and existing features (e.g., tracking the exact digital and physical journey of a parcel from a dark store shelf to a driver’s van).
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and design logical, scalable system rules to solve them.

Technical Architecture & Developer Handoff (40%)

  • Translate operational workflows into strict technical documentation and system maps.
  • Create high-quality sequence diagrams, Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), and API data flow charts.
  • Write crystal-clear technical requirements and Confluence pages so our engineering team (Laravel / MySQL / OSRM) knows exactly what to build without ambiguity.

Client Integration Support (25%)

  • Act as the technical point of contact for external retailers and partners onboarding onto the Zippd platform.
  • Support clients in understanding and consuming our REST APIs and webhooks.
  • Troubleshoot initial integration issues, test API payloads, and ensure a smooth technical handover before they go into live production., * Diagramming & Mapping: Expert level in tools like Lucidchart, Draw.io, or Miro.

Requirements

  • API Knowledge: Deep understanding of REST APIs, JSON payloads, webhooks, and HTTP status codes. You must be comfortable reading API documentation and explaining it to a client’s external dev team.
  • Documentation: Proven experience writing air-tight technical specs in Confluence, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Data Logic: Strong understanding of database relationships (SQL/Relational databases) and system state management (e.g., mapping how an order transitions from Pending to Allocated to Dispatched ).
  1. The Profile We Are Looking For * You are a translator: You can listen to an operations manager talk about warehouse chaos and instantly translate it into a clean sequence diagram for a backend developer. * You are detail-obsessed: You do not leave edge cases to chance. When you write a spec, the dev team rarely has to ask “what happens if this fails?” * You are an exceptional communicator: You possess crystal-clear written and spoken English. You have the soft skills to jump on a Zoom call with a major retailer’s tech team and confidently guide them through our API endpoints. * You are ready to be in the room: You thrive in a fast-paced, in-person environment. (Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role).
