Job description

  • You will approve and review requests for hardware changes, equipment moves, network installation, software installations, and facility changes.
  • You will provide necessary training to ensure all account holders have the appropriate level of knowledge and guidance to utilize resources effectively.
  • You will serve as the Regional Information System Security Officer (RISSO).
  • You will be responsible for the implementation of command information and communications systems’ security policies, plans and programs.
  • You will direct or accomplish special studies or projects, and coordinates efforts to implement mandatory technical standards of legacy systems., A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code INFO SYS SEC MGR, proficiency level INTERMEDIATE the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station.
  • You must be willing and able to travel on military or commercial aircraft.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

*Experience demonstrating knowledge of and skill applying DOD and DON Information Technology Security regulations, requirement and procedures. *Experience displaying working knowledge of equipment characteristics, computer techniques, requirements, methods, and procedures to include familiarity with approaches used by organizations in other agencies and/or the private sector in order to evaluate quality and level of service provided and to provide advice and assistance to managers. *Experience demonstrating knowledge of and skill applying project management principles and methods; performance management/measurement methods, tools, and techniques; requirement analysis principles and methods; acquisition management policies and procedures; analytical methods and practices; oral and written communication techniques sufficient to conduct analyses and recommend resolution of complex issues; identify and define business or technical requirement applied to the design, development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks, evaluate proposals for acquisition of IT products or services, prepare and present reports; represent the origination in interactions with other organizations; and provide technical leadership on group projects.
