Job description

Fraym is seeking a mid-to-senior level Data Scientist to amplify our team’s NextGen R&D capabilities. Your contributions will support the mapping of demographic and behavioral patterns across some of the world’s most data-scarce regions. Your work will be split between highly complex, large experiments (75%) and technical mentorship (25%) responsibilities., * Independently developing workflows and identifying new model applications for company-identified use-cases

  • Contributing to the development of product offerings and capabilities such as machine learning applications, data subscription packages, and inventive data visualizations
  • Serving as a technical resource within the data teams across Fraym, including software engineer, project managers, and technical analysts who are responsible for deploying new and improved methods at scale
  • Collaborating with data science team leadership to determine, drive, and pivot the data science team within the context of our organizational mission

Requirements

We are seeking candidates with a strong data science background and experience working in highly collaborative small teams. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in leveraging models to predict survey and/or geospatial data., * Master’s Degree or PhD in a related field

  • At least 5 years of working in a data science context, including technical mentorship in a data science, or adjacent, industry

Essential skills:

  • Experience applying and experimenting with a variety of AI models and LLMs in a professional context
  • Working in the nitty gritty of Machine Learning modeling, particularly in validation and interpretation
  • Communicating methodology to non-technical audiences
  • Cloud computing environment (AWS)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with GIS/geostatistics and/or complex survey design
  • Knowledge management experience
  • Experience working with or in the defense sector

Hiring Process

  1. HR Screen (20 minutes)
  2. Introductory conversation with the Deputy Director of Data Science (45 minutes)
  3. Data Case - to be completed the week of final interview and presented to the team in Step 4. (1-2 hours)
  4. Data Case presentation & discussion with the Data Science team (60 minutes)
  5. Reference checks and offer
