Job description
As a PHP / Laravel Developer, you will work on custom PHP and Laravel websites, convert PSD designs into responsive web pages, build and maintain web applications, resolve cross-browser compatibility issues, and integrate data across platforms such as WordPress, Salesforce, QuickBooks, Sage, APIs, and ERP systems., As a PHP / Laravel Developer, your duties will include:
- Working daily in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, WordPress, Laravel, and Magento 1/2
- Designing and building web applications using Laravel and other platforms
- Converting PSDs into pixel-perfect, responsive Laravel and custom PHP websites
- Resolving cross-browser compatibility issues
- Writing clean, structured, and well-documented code
- Building and maintaining RESTful APIs, including JSON responses, authentication, and versioning
- Integrating data with Sage, QuickBooks, WordPress, Salesforce, APIs, and ERP or stock management systems
- Working in a LEMP development environment
- Using version control systems such as Git or SVN
- Supporting multiple projects and tasks at the same time while maintaining quality and accuracy
Requirements
Coalition Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Remote PHP / Laravel Developer to build, maintain, and optimize custom websites and web applications. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, Laravel, JavaScript, jQuery, responsive development, API integrations, and clean, well-documented code., We are looking for talented and diligent candidates who perform well on our skills assessments. Strong skills test performance may be considered even if a candidate does not meet every preferred experience or educational background requirement., * Expertise in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, and CSS3
- Strong Laravel development experience or the ability to work confidently with Laravel-based projects
- Ability to convert PSDs into Laravel and custom PHP websites
- Ability to work in a LEMP development environment
- Strong understanding of SOLID principles
- Solid fundamentals in MVC architecture, object-oriented programming, Eloquent ORM, Blade, routing, middleware, and Composer
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs, including JSON responses, versioning, and authentication
- Database design experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including migrations, query optimization, and relationships
- Awareness of web security best practices, including SQL injection, XSS, CSRF mitigation, and secure authentication
- Strong testing mindset, including unit and feature testing with PHPUnit or Pest
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time
- Great attention to detail and a highly organized work style
- Ability to articulate ideas and technical concepts professionally
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
- Ability to adapt to a diverse and multicultural remote work environment
- Positive, upbeat attitude and passion for building and growing in a startup-style environment
- Ability to work hours similar to the rest of the Coalition Technologies team, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time
- Reliable remote workstation, including a fast computer, microphone, speakers, reliable internet, and reliable power
Preferred Skills
The following experience is preferred but not required:
- Portfolio with live links to websites or web applications you have previously developed
- Laravel experience
- Experience with other platforms such as WordPress
- Experience working with Magento 1/2
- Experience with modern frontend collaboration, including Vue.js, React, or the TALL stack, including Tailwind, Alpine, and Livewire
- Deployment experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud hosting platforms such as AWS, GCP, or DigitalOcean
- Experience with PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, WordPress, Laravel, Magento, APIs, and ERP integrations

Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the position offered.
