Job description

The Network Engineer position provides comprehensive support for the Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS), the US Government’s primary system for managing Security Cooperation programs. This support includes:

  • Providing administrative and procedural assistance in managing US Government Security Cooperation programs.
  • Managing DSAMS user training courses, including curriculum development, execution support, and instruction at DSCU locations or other user sites.
  • Providing user support via phone, email, and direct assistance with DEDB tasking.
  • Resolving user training issues submitted through the DSAMS Service Desk.
  • Coordinating with DSCU instructors to ensure accurate DSAMS information is reflected in existing courses.
  • Performing work process flows and training content reviews with DSAMS users.
  • Assisting with user acceptance testing of DSAMS functionality.
  • Identifying and reporting anomalies in system data, performance, and functions, and recommending improvements.
  • Contributing, as part of a team, to the design and monitoring of DSCU’s Local Area Network (LAN) system, adhering to DSCU IT standards and security protocols.
  • Participating in meetings, provide technical expertise, and document contributions to LAN design.
  • Configuring and installing network hardware and software, as directed by the DSCU IT department, following established procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all installations and configurations.
  • Maintaining LAN operations, ensuring network stability and security, and responding to user support requests in a timely manner.
  • Participating in the planning and design of future expansions and enhancements to the current LAN infrastructure, providing recommendations based on industry best practices and DSCU requirements.
  • Monitoring network operations, conduct tests to ensure new software or updates/patches function correctly on the current configuration, and document all testing results.
  • Operating and troubleshooting the Video Teleconference (VTC) system to ensure connectivity for DSCU events and meetings, following established procedures.
  • Obtaining and maintaining a Network Admin Token, complying with DoD 8140 requirements and possessing necessary certifications (e.g., Security+), ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience, as demonstrated in their resume.
  • Must have a high attention to detail and quality control
  • Proficiency in MS applications
  • Highly articulate in speech and written form of communication.
  • Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision in a highly visible and high operational tempo organization.
