Job description

Database Data Engineer

London (3 days a week onsite)

up to £100,000, This is a database-heavy Data Engineer position where you’ll take ownership of designing, optimising and evolving production-critical systems across AWS. Particularly using SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments., * Design and deliver scalable database solutions (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)

Lead migrations of MS SQL Server on EC2 to AWS RDS
Build and manage data pipelines
Drive performance tuning, query optimisation, and indexing strategies
Collaborate across engineering teams to embed robust database architecture

Requirements

5+ years in database engineering (design, build, optimisation, support)
Strong hands-on expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL) and PostgreSQL
Proven experience with AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB)
Track record of cloud migrations and database modernisation
Experience with ETL, pipelines, and replication
Python or similar scripting skills with an automation mindset
