Unlike a standard maintenance role, this is a unique opportunity to act as the primary architect for our growing Atlassian Cloud ecosystem. We are not just looking for an administrator; we are looking for a pioneer to help us build, configure, and scale an enterprise-grade Jira Cloud instance from the ground up. If you thrive on the challenge of turning complex departmental needs into streamlined, automated, and scalable workflows, this is the role for you., As the Jira Enterprise Administrator, you will move beyond simple ticket management to provide specialized technical administration and optimization. As our Jira Cloud footprint expands across campus, you will manage the growing complexity of the platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and optimized to meet the diverse needs of various campus stakeholders., * System Architecture: Lead the onboarding of new departments into the Jira Cloud ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration with existing IT infrastructure.
- Optimization & Automation: Develop and implement advanced automation rules, workflows, and custom configurations to streamline departmental processes.
- Governance & Security: Manage users, groups, roles, and permission schemes; perform regular audits to ensure data security and access control best practices.
- Lifecycle Management: Manage the installation and maintenance of Atlassian Marketplace apps and plugins; monitor system performance and licensing usage.
- Strategic Roadmap: (Progressive Duty) Develop and execute a long-term roadmap for Jira Cloud scaling and feature adoption.
- Consultative Support: Act as a technical consultant for department leads, helping them design custom dashboards, reporting tools, and standardized project templates.
Requirements
- Experience: Two (2) + years of hands-on experience in Atlassian Cloud Administration.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of Jira Cloud (Project, Workflow, Permission, and Notification schemes), Atlassian Access, and Organization management.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in Jira Automation and advanced querying (JQL).
- Communication: The ability to translate complex technical requirements into functional, user-friendly configurations for non-technical campus stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)., * Certification: Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) in Jira Administration for Cloud or Jira Service Management.
- Advanced Tooling: Experience with API integrations and/or ScriptRunner.
- Large-Scale Management: Experience managing large-scale Jira Cloud instances across multiple business units., If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Any expense related to the evaluation will be the responsibility of the candidate., TMCC is not able to support sponsorship for employment. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States at the time they begin employment.
Benefits & conditions
This is a temporary 12-month specialized contract position designed to establish the foundation of our Jira enterprise footprint. We are looking for a candidate who wants to grow with us. This role is structured with a clear path toward a permanent, full-time position within the college, with the next permanent recruitment cycle anticipated for Spring 2027 and a potential permanent start date of June 1, 2027.

Conditions of Employment
This is an on-going pool of qualified individuals interested in part-time, temporary non-tenure track instructional opportunities at Truckee Meadows Community College. These opportunities are part-time only and will not be continued beyond the ending date. These opportunities may be terminated at will, at any time, for any reason, without notice; the appointee has no appeal rights. Temporary assignments are not eligible for consideration for tenure as part of the assignment.
