Network Technician

We are looking for experienced Freelance Field Network Engineers to deliver onsite network installation and implementation services for leading enterprise customers.

This is an on-demand freelance position, with assignments allocated based on your location, skills, and availability. You will visit customer sites to install, replace, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise networking equipment while working closely with our remote Network Operations and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Install, replace, and commission enterprise network infrastructure at customer locations.
• Rack, mount, cable, and power network equipment.
• Install and configure:
• Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC)
• SD-WAN appliances
• Routers
• Switches
• Firewalls
• Wireless Access Points
• Perform hardware refreshes, migrations, and network upgrades.
• Follow implementation plans and Method of Procedure (MOP) documents.
• Work alongside remote Network Engineers during configuration, migration, and testing activities.
• Verify network connectivity and perform post-installation testing.
• Troubleshoot hardware, cabling, and connectivity issues.
• Label equipment and maintain professional cable management standards.
• Complete installation reports, site documentation, photographs, and service tickets.
• Adhere to customer security, health & safety, and change management procedures.
• Represent the company professionally while onsite.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Network Engineer, Field Network Engineer, or Network Deployment Engineer.
• Proven hands-on experience installing enterprise networking equipment at customer sites.
• Experience with one or more of the following:
• Cisco
• Aruba
• Juniper
• Fortinet
• HPE
• Meraki
• Palo Alto Networks
• Good understanding of:
• LAN/WAN
• TCP/IP
• VLANs
• DHCP
• DNS
• VPN
• Routing & Switching
• Wireless networking
• Experience installing and replacing:
• Routers
• Switches
• Firewalls
• Wireless Access Points
• Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC)
• SD-WAN appliances
• Comfortable working with remote engineering teams during implementation windows.
• Ability to interpret network diagrams, rack layouts, and implementation documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently at customer locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNA, CCNP, Aruba Certified, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent certifications.
• Experience supporting retail, banking, hospitality, healthcare, or enterprise environments.
• Experience with structured cabling and rack installations.
• Experience with network migrations and hardware refresh projects.

• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Own transport (preferred depending on location).
• Laptop and smartphone.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, or maintenance windows when required.
• Local language plus basic English communication skills.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
