Why This Role Matters
Silverthread is at a turning point and is actively rebuilding toward a sharper, AI-augmented product offering. As our new Head of Product & Software Engineering, you’ll be the driving force behind our product vision and technical execution. You’ll work directly with the CEO to lead us into the next chapter with autonomy, urgency, and deep influence on company direction.
What You’ll Own
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and articulate the product vision, including AI-enabled developer tooling.
- Prioritize features based on market demand, technical feasibility, and customer feedback.
- Build out the product roadmap and evolve it rapidly in collaboration with design, engineering, and leadership.
AI-Enabled Platform Development
- Design and lead the implementation of new AI-driven diagnostics or augmentation capabilities.
- Explore and integrate large language models (LLMs), embeddings, and code intelligence tools.
- Decide when to build, buy, or partner-balancing innovation with time-to-market.
Engineering Leadership
- Evaluate, mentor, and grow our technical team to ensure excellence in product execution.
- Establish strong development processes, architecture guidelines, and quality standards.
- Ensure scalable, maintainable systems as the product and customer base grow.
Customer-Centric Execution
- Engage directly with customers to understand needs, test hypotheses, and validate features.
- Shape customer pilots and early-adoption strategies to prove value quickly.
- Turn insights from sales and support into actionable product iterations., * A new or revitalized AI-enhanced Silverthread product in market, with initial traction from target customers.
- A clear and credible technical roadmap aligned with customer feedback and strategic goals.
- A cohesive product and engineering team executing with speed and quality.
- Confidence among investors, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience building SaaS platforms with AI/ML or DevTools components.
- Have led both product and engineering teams (or are excited to stretch across both).
- Are fluent in modern ML tooling and infrastructure, especially as applied to code analysis or developer productivity.
- Thrive in ambiguous, high-autonomy environments and love making sense of chaos.
- Care about both technical depth and product-market fit. You can talk to both engineers and execs with ease.
- Can quickly get up to speed, assess existing systems, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Comfortable working with Rust, Python, JavaScript, and Power BI to support platform evolution and product innovation
- You are a builder at heart: prototyping, shipping, iterating, and learning.

- Experience with tools for software modernization, legacy code, or technical debt.
- Prior success in turnaround or 0-to-1 product leadership roles.
- Publications or talks in the AI, DevTools, or software quality space.
