Job description
We are looking for an experienced System Administrator to support and maintain Linux and Windows workstation environments for engineering and technical teams. This role is responsible for workstation deployment, system administration, virtualization, endpoint security, automation, and support for engineering collaboration tools.

Responsibilities
- Administer and support Linux and Windows desktop/laptop environments.
- Deploy, configure, patch, and maintain workstation images.
- Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, Rocky Linux, Windows 10, and Windows 11 systems.
- Support and administer Proxmox virtualization environments.
- Administer and support Jira, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, authentication, and access controls.
- Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, networking, and application issues.
- Perform endpoint patching, security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and software deployments.
- Automate routine administrative tasks using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and workstation standards.
- Work closely with Engineering, DevOps, Cybersecurity, and IT teams to improve system reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of Linux and/or Windows System Administration experience.
- Experience supporting:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- CentOS
- Rocky Linux
- Windows 10 & Windows 11
- Experience with Proxmox virtualization.
- Experience administering Jira, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
- Scripting experience using Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
- Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, or Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with patch management, endpoint security, and vulnerability remediation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting engineering or software development environments.
- Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Microsoft Intune, or Group Policy.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and source control.
- Experience with virtualization, containers, or cloud infrastructure.
- RHCSA, RHCE, Linux+, Microsoft, Atlassian, or Jenkins certifications are a plus., * Bachelor’s (Required)
