Job description

We’re hiring GCP CloudOps Engineers to join a growing cloud engineering function supporting large-scale Google Cloud environments used by enterprise customers.

This is a hands-on role focused on cloud operations, platform reliability, automation, and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with infrastructure, platform, and development teams to ensure cloud services remain secure, resilient, and scalable.

We’re open to candidates across multiple levels of seniority, from those with 1-2+ years of cloud experience through to Senior Engineers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing day-to-day operations across Google Cloud environments
  • Monitoring cloud platforms and responding to incidents, alerts, and service issues
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure, networking, and application-related problems
  • Improving platform reliability through automation and operational enhancements
  • Developing scripts and tooling to remove manual processes and improve efficiency
  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
  • Working closely with engineering teams to improve platform performance and resilience
  • Managing IAM, security controls, and cloud governance standards
  • Producing operational documentation, runbooks, and technical guides
  • Supporting production systems as part of an on-call rota

Requirements

We’re interested in candidates with experience in some of the following:

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, networking and IAM
  • Infrastructure support within cloud or platform environments
  • Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tooling
  • Python, Bash or similar scripting languages
  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
  • Kubernetes and containerised workloads
  • Monitoring and observability platforms
  • Linux administration
  • Incident management and root cause analysis

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive salary of £40,000 - £70,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid working model based around Manchester
  • Exposure to large-scale enterprise cloud environments
  • Clear progression opportunities across engineering career paths
  • Ongoing training and certification support
  • Opportunity to work with modern cloud-native technologies and automation tooling

If you’re passionate about cloud operations, automation, and building reliable platforms at scale, we’d love to hear from you.
